When to visit UAE, month by month.
Keyed to the circuit most operators sell: Dubai + Abu Dhabi. For the best all-round experience, go Jan-Feb. For the lowest prices and thinnest crowds, go Sep/Apr.
Two windows, because they answer different questions. Best experience scores the weather, the headline sights and low crowds; cheapest and quietest scores only airfare and how empty it is. Special-interest seasons (skiing, Christmas markets, aurora, festivals) are kept out of the experience score and flagged on their own line, so a niche winter draw never masquerades as the best all-round month. If you care most about one thing, read that column below.

What each month actually gives you
One of the two best months to come: pleasant 24C days, Dubai Shopping Festival running, but it is also peak-crowd, peak-hotel-rate season.
Arguably the sweet spot: still pleasant (26C), DSF crowds thinning, and in 2026 Ramadan only begins mid-to-late Feb so most of the month is 'normal' city.
Still a great-weather month (29C) and good value as winter rates ease, but in 2026 most of March is Ramadan, so daytime dining is limited and Eid week (~20-22 Mar) is busy and pricey.
The shoulder tips toward heat: comfortable early, but 40C days are already possible, so April is a fair-not-great compromise with easing prices.
The worst-of-both-worlds month begins: scorching 38C days, yet Indian school-holiday airfares spike even as Dubai hotels get cheaper, so you pay peak fare for a city you cannot walk around.
Full summer: 40C-plus with 45C-plus peak days, hotels cheap but Indian school-holiday flights still dear, and the outdoors is effectively off-limits by day.
Peak heat, peak Indian airfare: 41C-plus days with cheap hotels you cannot enjoy outdoors, plus Dubai Summer Surprises for indoor shopping and family deals.
The hottest, cheapest-hotel month: 42C days and high humidity, best treated as an indoor / water-park trip, with fares easing late in the month as school holidays end.
Still hot (39C) and humid, but the value sweet spot for Indian buyers: hotels still low, fares dropped after the school holidays, so if you can handle heat and stay indoors it is the cheapest good-value window.
The shoulder swings back to comfort: heat eases to 36C through the month, Global Village reopens mid-October, and prices are still reasonable before the winter surge.
Peak season proper starts: pleasant 31C weather, full events calendar, and often the best balance of great conditions with rates that have not yet hit their December ceiling.
Best weather, priciest everything: 26C days, DSF, NYE fireworks and the Abu Dhabi F1 (4-6 Dec 2026) make it the busiest and most expensive month, with F1 weekend hotels spiking several-fold.
Worth noting
- • June to September is not 'a bit hot' - Dubai's mean daily highs run 40-42C with hot days reaching 45-46C (August is the hottest, mean high 41.9C, record 49C in 2016), and outdoor activity is genuinely limited to early morning and evening.
- • Summer is a trap for Indian buyers: Dubai hotel rates fall to their annual low (August is the ADR trough), but airfare from India spikes because of school holidays, so you pay peak fare for cheap hotels in a city you cannot walk around by day.
- • Dubai's hotel Average Daily Rate peaks in December-January and bottoms out around August, moving opposite to India-origin airfare - the divergence is the single most important thing to plan around.
- • The Abu Dhabi F1 weekend (4-6 December 2026) spikes hotel rates hard: top-tier Abu Dhabi hotels run about 3x their normal winter-weekend rate and trackside Yas Island listings have jumped 800%+, so book far ahead or base in mainland Abu Dhabi / Dubai and commute.
- • Ramadan moves about 11 days earlier every year (approx 18 Feb to 19 Mar in 2026, approx 7 Feb to 8 Mar in 2027) and changes the daytime city - some daytime dining is screened or closed and the city is quieter by day - so never hardcode a month; check the dates for your travel year.
- • Winter is peak everything at once: December 2025 was the single busiest month (~2.04M visitors) and January close behind (~1.99M), which is exactly why it is both the nicest weather and the dearest, most crowded time to go.
- • Global Village and Dubai's big outdoor festival calendar are seasonal and shut for the summer - Global Village runs roughly mid-October to April/May (Season 30 was 15 Oct 2025 to 10 May 2026), so a summer visitor loses one of the city's headline attractions entirely.
- • Outdoor water parks are actually pleasant in the summer heat (sea and pool water sits at a bath-warm 32C in Jul-Aug), but the midday sun is fierce - go early or in the evening - while indoor attractions like Ski Dubai, IMG, Dubai Mall aquarium and Louvre Abu Dhabi are heat-proof year-round.
